About Cynthia

Cynthia Chaanine Garrison is a board-certified Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) who specializes in child, adolescent, and young adult psychotherapy. For the past 15 years, she has worked with children and families in a variety of capacities.

 

Within the practice, she treats children, adolescents and young adults and has special training in Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Learning Disabilities, and anxiety disorders (generalized anxiety, separation anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder). In addition, she has extensive knowledge in working with neurodivergent clients. 

 

In addition to her private practice, Cynthia has worked in Out-of-District school settings as well as a Child Study Team member in the Bergen County School systems. She has great expertise in working with adolescents and children with social, emotional and behavioral challenges as well as significant knowledge of Bergen County school districts and the special education process.

 

One thing has remained constant in all of her work – her heart and passion for helping people.
